DEN Nuggets Win(-105)

All the spotlight might be on the OKC Thunder and their brilliant start to the season, but what the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic are doing is quite remarkable. The Joker is shooting 78% on two pointers, he’s leading the league in rebounds and assists and he just destroyed the Clippers with a 55 point performance. Every 100 possessions he is on the court the Nuggets are scoring 151 points, defensively they’re giving up 104 points which means the Nuggets are outscoring opponents by 47 points when he’s out there. Now the only issue ahead of Saturday’s game in Minnesota is the fact that Jokic is questionable with a wrist issue.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves are also playing well at 8-4 SU. This team has steadily put together a run of 6 wins in 7 games, picking up right where they left off last season. Although he isn’t putting up historic numbers like Jokic, Ant Man is once again leading the way scoring 27.5 points per game and shooting almost 50% from the field and over 46% from three. Last night’s win over Sacramento was an impressive one as they put up 124 points, my only concern here is the fact that during this current 4-game win streak they faced the Jazz twice and the Kings twice. Tonight’s game vs Denver will be a proper test, especially since they’ll be playing on a backend of a back-to-back scenario.

It all depends on whether or not Jokic plays for Denver here. Denver already won once at Target Center this season, with Jamal Murray going nuts scoring 43 points. Jokic had a triple double of 25-19-10 in that game, if he plays here I’m confident in picking Denver. If not, then it’s an easy Minnesota win.
