Detroit Pistons vs Houston Rockets Prediction, Odds and Picks for Tomorrow, 10/24/25
Pistons vs Rockets Pickswise Expert Predictions
Disappointment is the word that best described the Pistons in their season debut as they fell to the Chicago Bulls 115-111 on Wednesday. They were down by as many as 23 points in that game, however the late comeback wasn’t enough and now they find themselves in a 0-1 hole to start the year. Three-point shooting was a letdown as they knocked down just 7 of 24 attempts, that is one thing that’ll need to be addressed moving forward. Playing back-to-back games on the road to start the year is far from ideal though, especially since we know that the Pistons have lost 6 of 7 games vs Houston.
Houston is also coming off a loss in their season opener, as they fell in double OT at Oklahoma City on Tuesday. But unlike the Pistons, the Rockets actually showed they can hang with the best team in the league, so there will be optimism among their ranks ahead of the home season opener on Friday. Alperen Sengun had himself a game vs OKC with 39 points and 11 rebounds, while Kevin Durant made a solid impression in his debut with the team with 23 and 9 rebounds. Rebounding is one thing that the Rockets will be good all year long, they have one of the tallest starting line-ups in NBA history. They should have the edge in that department vs the Pistons too, we just saw the Bulls outrebound Detroit and they were the 2nd worst rebounding team in the NBA last season.
Once the three-ball starts falling for the Rockets they’ll be hard to beat. They went just 11-for-39 vs OKC on Tuesday, as we know from last year this is one of the areas where the Pistons really struggled. They allowed opponents to shoot 36.6% from three last season which was the 5th worst mark in the NBA. I expect the Rockets to show up in their first home game of the season. Back them to cover.
