Warriors vs Pelicans Pickswise Expert Predictions

Game Totals Pick
Under 228.5(-110)

The Golden State Warriors will be looking to extend their winning streak to 3 games when they visit the hapless New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. Golden State is coming off back-to-back victories over San Antonio, both on the road. The most recent result was a 109-108 thriller on Friday. I think another relatively low-scoring affair is in the cards for Sunday in the Big Easy, so my Warriors vs Pelicans pick is Under 228.5. Stephen Curry is still the man at 37 years old (he went for 46 and 49 points in the 2 games against the Spurs), but head coach Steve Kerr’s crew is not getting a ton from the supporting cast. Nobody else is averaging 20.0 ppg and Jimmy Butler II is the only other Warriors player who is scoring more than 13.8 ppg.

Of course, the Pelicans (2-10) possess even less firepower. This is without question one of the worst teams in the NBA we are talking about. New Orleans is averaging 108.4 ppg, which is dead last in the entire association. Zion Williams is the leading scorer at a modest 22.8 ppg and he is questionable for Sunday due to a hamstring injury. The Pels are third-to-last in league in pace of play, averaging 101.5 possessions per contest. Golden State does not play particularly fast, either — #18 at 104.0 possessions per game. I’m rolling with the under.

Warriors vs Pelicans prediction: Under 228.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
