Rockets vs Jazz Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
HOU Rockets -12.5(-105)

The Rockets and Jazz run it back a little more than 24 hours following their early tipoff clash on Sunday. Houston came out on top fairly easily 129-101, winning its fifth game in a row on the road and third overall. Alperen Sengun and KevinDurant were too much to handle for the young and inexperienced Jazz. Houston also won the rebounding battle 50-33, which made a massive difference. So can the visitors repeat that same performance on Monday night? They are once again double-digit favorites, and only once in 10 road games this season they failed to cover the spread.

Utah has shown glimpses of great offense in certain home games this season, but for the most part the Jazz look like a 6-13 team, which is their record coming into Monday’s game. Adjustments will be made on their end, but it’s hard to expect any drastic changes considering they simply aren’t built to handle a player like Steven Adams down low. Houston is really taking advantage of the height at its disposal; it leads the league in rebounding percentage at 55.5%. Even Lauri Markkanen had a game to forget yesterday, scoring just 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds total. I don’t think we should overthink this one. Even with a poor performance from Amen Thompson, the Rockets dominated this matchup on Sunday. It would take a massive collapse for the Rockets to lose this game — or even come close to doing so. I’m backing Houston.

Rockets vs Jazz prediction: Houston -12.5 (-105) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
