Pelicans vs Lakers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
LA Lakers -14.5(-115)

Despite getting a solid 25 points from Zion Williamson and facing a Curry-less Golden State Warriors team, the New Orleans Pelicans managed just 96 points in an 8-point defeat last night. There seems to be no fix to this offense which ranks just 26th in efficiency through the first month or so of the season. They’ll need to put up 110+ points in order to be somewhat competitive on Sunday against the Lakers, the question is do they have it in them while playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back? They’ve dropped 7 in a row against this team and have only 1 win in 15 road games overall to show for.

All is good in Laker land as the team is thriving with a 14-4 SU record. Only the Oklahoma City Thunder have a better record in the Western Conference and we can already feel the buzz in Los Angeles. The team has also successfully implemented LeBron James back into the line-up, he has hardly been a distraction as some people said he would be after returning. The almost 41-year old is doing his best just to be one of the guys on the team, he’s taken a back seat to both Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves offensively. The aforementioned duo is one of the most lethal in the NBA, we just saw them combine for 73 points in the win over Dallas.

LA won the first meeting 118-104 and they’re once again 14.5 point favorites here. All signs are pointing to another dominant win here, they’ve beaten the Pels in 7 straight meetings and have covered in 6 in a row at home vs this team. I did get burned on Toronto last night, but I don’t think the Lakers will mess around here. Back the home team.

New Orleans Pelicans vs LA Lakers Predictions: Lakers -14.5 is available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
