PHI 76ers Win(+160)

A tough task awaits the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday as they head to Madison Square Garden for a date with the newly crowned NBA Cup champion New York Knicks. Philly does have a positive record on the road this season at 6-4 SU, but they’ve not had much luck in games against the Knicks lately losing 5 in a row. At MSG they’ve got just 1 win in 6 visits, is it time for them to turn a corner here? Paul George did just have the best game of the season scoring 35 on the Hawks, Joel Embiid also added 22 and 14 rebounds in that game. Philadelphia’s advantage coming into this game is perhaps in their energy levels, they’ve not played since Sunday night.

The Knicks played twice since Sunday and also traveled from Vegas to Indiana and then back to New York ahead of tonight’s game which is a 2nd night of a back-to-back. On top of that they also didn’t have Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson against Indy, both are questionable to play on Friday as well. That would be a major handicap for the Knicks on the rebounding side of things, as the Sixers are equipped with Embiid and Drummond at the center positions. Having won 13 of 14 games at home the Knicks are still heavily favored here and I do not think they’ll roll over even if their energy levels are depleted.

The difference in quality is quite obvious here, but from time to time teams will have these so called “scheduling losses” and I think this is one of those for the Knicks. As I mentioned earlier the road to and from Vegas was a grueling one, not to mention the extra games they had to play unlike the Sixers coming into this game. Tyrese Maxey has dropped 30 and 46 points in his last two visits to MSG, I’m calling an upset in this one.
