Suns vs Nuggets Pickswise Expert Predictions
It’s a quick turnaround for the Phoenix Suns who just got destroyed at the hands of the LA Clippers 129-102 last night. They now head to Denver for a date with Nikola Jokic and a Nuggets team looking to win their first game of the year. Playing on 2nd nights of back-to-backs is never ideal, Phoenix posted a 4-12 SU record in this scenario last year. Now, with Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal gone, plus Jalen Green out injured, they might struggle to have enough bodies to compete with the Nuggets.
Denver’s performance in the season opener ended in a 137-131 OT loss at Golden State, but the Nuggets shouldn’t be too unhappy with the way they played. Especially Aaron Gordon who had a career night with 50 points on 17-for-21 from the field and 10 threes made, to go along with his 8 rebounds. Nikola Jokic didn’t have the most efficient of games, but still finished with a triple-double, while Jamal Murray had 25 and 10. The bench production didn’t follow what the starters gave in that game, but playing at home should fix that issue as role players tend to up their game when playing in their own arena.
In head-to-head meetings it’s been all Denver with 6 wins in 9 games played, however the Suns have been able to keep things close lately covering in 4 of 6 meetings. This being their 2nd game in less than 24 hours could be an issue for the road team though. The offense was out of sync last night in LA, that could be the case once again tonight vs one of the better defensive units in the league. The under has cashed in 5 of 6 meetings at Ball Arena and in 7 of 10 meetings overall. I’ll be sticking with the trends and backing the under in this one.
Under 234.5 is available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
