Raptors vs Suns Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
TOR Raptors -3.5(-110)

Despite the 6-point loss against Denver, Raptors bettors shouldn’t be discouraged ahead of Sunday’s game against the slumping Phoenix Suns. Toronto has more away wins than home wins this season, plus they are one of the more reliable bets on the road covering 20 times in 34 outings. The injury situation is far better than the one in Phoenix at the moment, so there are plenty of reasons to consider backing them here. They’ve had the edge in head-to-head meetings from a betting perspective, covering 4 times in 5 games. This also includes the first meeting played last week which they won by 7 points at home.

It’s been a struggle for the Suns over the past 5 games, they’ve lost to the Raptors, Celtics, Timberwolves, Spurs and Milwaukee during this stretch. A lack of true center down low has come back to bite them (55.3 rebs allowed per game in last 3 outings), Mark Williams remains out until further notice. There’s also no good news in the case of Dillon Brooks who has been out for a while with a broken hand. Devin Booker has been doing his best to keep the ship afloat on his own, but even he cannot do it all by himself. His last two games have seen him record 22 and 14 points, going a combined 12-for-38 from the field. He did have 31 the last time he played Toronto, however 5 turnovers committed isn’t something to brag about.

On top of all these issues the Suns are also playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back here, they’ve won just 5 of 13 games in this scenario. Coincidentally the 1st meeting with Toronto was also a game in which they played with no rest, I feel quite confident backing one of the better road teams in the league here. Take Toronto.
