As the season winds down, the Golden State Warriors sit 3 games under .500. They will have a good opportunity to pick up a win against the Washington Wizards. Tonight’s game will be the second game of a stretch where the Warriors will play 7 of 8 games on their home court. The Warriors won their last game 109-106 at the Chase Center against the Brooklyn Nets. Gui Santos stepped up and led the team in scoring with a career high 31 points. The Warriors have won their last 2 — a promising sign after they had lost 8 of 9. The Warriors’ other win was in overtime in Dallas. Golden State will again be playing with a limited lineup due to injury. It will have to try to make it three straight wins without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody and Al Horford. Kristaps Porzingis and Brandin Podziemski have both stepped up, raising their scoring averages in their last 10 games — but no wins have felt certain recently for the Warriors.

The Wizards will provide an opposition tonight with injury concerns of their own. Players listed as out tonight include Trae Young and Kyshawn George, while Tre Johnson, Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly are all listed as questionable. Overall, I’m siding with the Wizards tonight — not because of their promising young players, but instead I’m fading the Warriors due to their inconsistencies. We haven’t seen the Warriors win a game by double-figures since February 25. Overall the Warriors have not been the dominant team at home this season that we have seen in the past, with a record against the spread of 15-20. There could be a good opportunity to hop on this number early in hopes some of the questionable players for Washington get the ok to play tonight. But even if they don’t, the Warriors have not shown that they can be confidently backed to win comfortably against any opponent.
