Best MLB player prop for Sunday's slate: No whiffs for Wainwright

Best MLB player prop bets for today 6/4: Rangers run through Adam Wainwright

Happy Sunday! It’s been a great week of baseball and we have a massive slate of MLB games today, but there’s one player prop that I really like. Before that, be sure to check out our full game previews for tonight’s matchups.

Without further ado, let’s get into it!

Adam Wainwright (STL) under 4.5 strikeouts (-140)

Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Adam Wainwright has failed to reach 5 strikeouts after recording at least 6 strikeouts in his first three starts. The veteran has been getting a lot of weak contact in his recent starts which has made him very effective and efficient. A lot of the weak contact has been on the ground as Wainwright has a 57.6% ground ball rate this season which is the highest rate of his long career. That career-high ground ball rate has led to his lowest strikeout rate since 2017.

The Giants’ offense has been decent recently, but their strikeout rate has been impressive. They rank 10th in batting average and have the second-fewest strikeouts in the last two weeks. And for the entire season, San Francisco has the 10th fewest strikeouts in baseball. They have faced some of the best starters in the game recently, but Wainwright ranks in the 21st percentile for chase rate and 4th percentile for whiff rate.

San Francisco should be putting the ball in play a lot, so back Wainwright to have less than 5 strikeouts on Sunday Night Baseball.
