We have a 6-game NBA slate to work with on Friday, highlighted by a double-header on ESPN. It begins with the Celtics hosting the 76ers before the Nuggets pay a visit to the Suns. New York, Dallas, San Antonio and New Orleans are also taking the court.

Below is my mega parlay for Friday, and also be sure to check out all of our NBA picks.

Celtics -9.5 alternate spread (+130)

Knicks ML (+110)

San Antonio Spurs +12.5 (-108)

NBA parlay odds: +830

For this parlay we are going with 2 underdogs — 1 on the money line and 1 against the spread — and 1 favorite on an alternate number. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Boston Celtics -9.5 over Detroit Pistons (+130)

Joel Embiid (illness) did not suit up for Philadelphia in its 124-114 loss at New Orleans earlier this week and he is questionable for Friday. If Embiid is unable to go, the Celtics should win big. In fact, they might do so regardless of the situation. Boston has not lost at home this season and it is 13-5 straight up in its last 18 against the 76ers inside TD Garden. Moreover, the C’s are 9-2 SU in their last 11 overall. They are playing great basketball everywhere these days. Tyrese Maxey may have do it all if Embiid is sidelined, but Boston has Jrue Holiday and Derrick White in the backcourt and they are outstanding defensive guards. Don’t be surprised if the home team prevails by double-digits.

Knicks ML over Toronto Raptors (+110)

The Knicks are 11-7 overall and 9-3 since starting the season 2-4. Getting them as underdogs represents great value even on the road. New York has a winning record away from home and the Raptors (9-10) are decent but nothing special in Toronto. Both Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle are averaging more than 20 ppg, RJ Barrett has been his typically solid self and Immanuel Quickley has really stepped up in 2023-24 (15.7 ppg). The Knicks are simply the better team and I don’t see why home-court advantage for the Raptors would impact the outcome I expect.

San Antonio Spurs +12.5 over New Orleans Pelicans (-108)

A spread of +12.5 is borderline disrespectful to Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs. It is true that San Antonio has the second-worst record in the NBA (tied with Washington at 3-15), this team is generally competitive. Head coach Gregg Popovich’s crew has gone 4 straight games without losing by more than 12 points and has also lost by 12 or fewer in 6 of its last 7. Wembanyama has scored more than 20 points in 4 consecutive contests. Meanwhile, the Pelicans have dropped 2 of their last 3 and are dealing with injuries to Trey Murphy III (out) and Jose Alvarado (day-to-day). There is no reason why the visitors can’t keep it close on Friday night.
