The middle of the week brings a good pallet cleanser following a jam packed 9-game Tuesday night. There are 7 matchups on Wednesday full of star power and games all night. Right in the middle of this slate is Boston visiting Colorado in what is sure to be a great game. There are star players on each team suited up that will probably have highlight-reel goals.

T.J. Oshie Over 2.5 shots on goal (+115)
T.J. Oshie missed the start of the season but has contributed since returning. Oshie has 10 points in 16 games while playing on the 2nd line with Evgeny Kuznetsov and Sonny Milano. He is also on Washington’s top powerplay with Alex Ovechkin, John Carlson, Marcus Johansson and Dylan Strome. Oshie is consistently on the ice with strong players, and tonight they get a very favorable matchup against Philadelphia. Washington has already beat Philadelphia once this season in a game which Oshie collected 2 assists and 3 shots on goal in 18 minutes played. He also led the Caps in hits and had 2 blocked shots. Hits and blocks are not pertinent to this pick, but they reinforce Oshie’s overall performance and strong matchup against the Flyers.
Oshie has logged at least 17 minutes in each of his last 3 games played and has tallied 13 shots on goal across those 3. He is playing well and the Capitals overall have had a good last 2 weeks — 4-2-1 in their last 7 overall. If Washington is going to make a run, it has to beat weaker teams like Philadelphia. The Flyers have 2 wins in their last 14 games. Oshie and the Capitals will be looking to pepper the Flyers’ goaltending early and often. With added urgency and a favorable matchup, look for Oshie to continue being an integral piece of Washington’s attack.

Kirill Kaprizov anytime goal scorer (+150)
Kirill Kaprizov is just on fire right now. He has 6 goals and 6 assists in his last 6 games as part of his 16 goals and 16 assists in 24 games played this season. Among opponents over that span were the Jets, Maple Leafs, Oilers and Stars. He is currently riding a 12-game point streak, which to no surprise has coincided with Minnesota going 8-3-1 over that span. The Wild are playing great hockey led by Kaprizov. He is on Minnesota’s top line and top powerplay and plays more than 21 minutes per game. Until Kaprizov starts to slow down even a little bit, any of his plus-money props have good value.
Wednesday’s matchup against the Flames will be a tough one and a great game for viewers. Calgary is not quite in as good of form as Minnesota, but it is trending upward after a tough November. In what is expected to be a close game with a slim margin of error, top players will dominate ice time even more so than usual. Kaprizov is the best player on the ice in this matchup and any offense the Wild generate is likely to go through him. Kaprizov has 7 more goals, 2 more assists and 13 more points than the Flames’ leaders in those respective categories. In tight games between good teams, top players typically come through. Kaprizov is one of the hotter scorers in hockey right now and will have ample opportunity to keep it rolling on Wednesday night.
