Best Philadelphia Eagles vs Seattle Seahawks touchdown scorer bets: DK Metcalf shreds Philadelphia's secondary

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf (14) catches a pass for a touchdown during the second half against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

This week’s edition of Monday Night Football takes us to Seattle, Washington, as the Eagles take on the Seahawks. Both teams enter Monday night on a losing streak and will be eager to break it, but oddsmakers have tabbed the Seahawks as home underdogs in Week 15. Instead of a spread or game totals pick, I’ve analyzed the touchdown scorer market and have two best bets for Monday Night Football at +290 and +155 odds. Let’s dive in!

Philadelphia Eagles touchdown scorer best bet: Dallas Goedert (+290)

Philadelphia’s tight end is finally back. Dallas Goedert suffered a forearm fracture several weeks ago which caused him to miss over a month of action. However, he’s back and ready to make an impact in Philly’s offense. He made his return last week in Dallas and hauled in 4 catches for 30 yards. That doesn’t seem too important, but something to note about that game was Jalen Hurts targeted only 3 players for the entire game — A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Goedert. If Goedert is only competing with two other receivers, he has a great chance to score on Monday Night.

Plus, it’s more than likely that Devon Witherspoon will be matched up with Brown. That won’t completely take away Brown from the offense, but Witherspoon is an elite cornerback that should be able to minimize Brown’s impact on the game. And remember, Goedert was a red-zone machine last season. The big tight end sees a lot of targets when the Eagles are in scoring range, so I like his chances of scoring on Monday Night Football.

Seattle Seahawks touchdown scorer best bet: DK Metcalf (+155)

DK Metcalf had 3 touchdowns from Week 1 to Week 12. It had been a disappointing season for Seattle’s star until Week 13 rolled around. Metcalf put up a career night on Thursday Night Football against the Cowboys as he caught 6 passes for 134 yards and 3 touchdowns. He followed that up with a 52-yard performance with another touchdown in Week 14 against the 49ers, so for the first time this season, Metcalf has a touchdown in back-to-back games. I’m not expecting that to stop in Week 15 either because the Eagles’ secondary is the Achilles’ Heel of the Super Bowl-caliber team. Philadelphia is allowing the 5th-most passing yards per game and only Reed Blankenship is having a solid season in the secondary.

Last week, the Eagles allowed Dak Prescott to throw for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns before being taken out due to the massive lead. Before that, Brock Purdy threw for 314 yards and 4 touchdowns. And before that, Josh Allen threw for 339 yards and 2 touchdowns. See the theme? Geno Smith should have a field day through the air, and Metcalf should benefit the most.
