The U.S. Open continues on Friday after a fantastic opening round at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. Adam Hadwin is the current leader but Rory McIlroy is right behind him, seemingly riding the momentum of last week’s Canadian Open win. But it’s time to dive into some 3-ball best bets today as players jockey for position on the leaderboard and look to make the cut. Without further ado, let’s dive into some of the best 3-ball bets for Friday in Brookline.

Shane Lowry (-125) over Phil Mickelson and Louis Oosthuizen

Tee-time 8:02 am ET

Shane Lowry looks the best 3-ball bet of the early starters. Playing partners Phil Mickelson and Louis Oosthuizen, under pressure and facing criticism for their switch to LIV Golf, are well over par after the opening round at Brookline and are likely to be demotivated. Lowry can prove his mettle in the forecast wind.

Sam Bennett (+250) over Kurt Kitayama and Denny McCarthy

Tee-time 12:41 pm ET

Sam Bennett defeated his playing partners by 3 and 4 shots respectively in the opening round at Brookline and the amateur looks great value to do the same again in the second round. The rising star posted a more-than-respectable 70 on Thursday and that should do his confidence the world of good. At +250, he’s worth siding with to maintain his momentum.

Max Homa (+150) over Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott

Tee-time 1:14 pm ET

Second-round 3-ball bettors should also consider Max Homa, who seems fair odds against Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott. Homa has a poor record at the Majors, but those performances came in the past when he was a lot more inexperienced than he is now. He’s won 3 PGA Tour titles in the last 16 months and should have plenty of confidence as a result.

Spieth came into this tournament struggling with illness and was unimpressive in the opening round, so Homa can be expected to control this group in the face of some tough conditions.

A three-leg parlay with Lowry, Bennett and Homa pays out at +1520 odds!
