Best Washington Commanders vs Chicago Bears touchdown scorer bets: Brian Robinson gets his first score

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson (8) is introduced prior to the start of the Commanders' game against the Tennessee Titans at FedExField.

Thursday Night Football will feature the Washington Commanders taking on the Chicago Bears. We all hope that this week’s TNF game will be better than the Colts-Broncos game last week which did not see a touchdown scored. We have two touchdown scorer best bets for this game, so let’s get right into it.

With kickoff set for 8:15 pm ET on Amazon Prime Video, it’s time to take a look at the best touchdown scorer bets to be made for Thursday Night Football.

Washington Commanders touchdown scorer best bet: Brian Robinson, RB (+235)

The rookie made his NFL debut on Sunday, just 6 weeks after being shot twice in a robbery attempt. He faced a Titans defense that has allowed the 7th-fewest rushing attempts and 8th-fewest rushing yards, along with being one of the four remaining teams that had allowed just 1 rushing touchdown. Still, Robinson showed excellent potential as he ran for 22 yards on 9 attempts. He will get a far more favorable matchup on Thursday Night Football as the Bears defense has been one of the worst defensive units at stopping the run.

They have allowed the most rushing attempts and 2nd-most rushing yards in the NFL this season. Chicago has also allowed 8 rushing touchdowns this season, the 3rd-most among the 32 teams. Dalvin Cook and the Vikings exploited that weakness as Cook ran for 94 yards and found the end zone twice. This is a perfect opportunity for Robinson to get his first career NFL touchdown.

Chicago Bears touchdown scorer best bet: David Montgomery, RB (+235)

Through 5 games, the Bears have 8 touchdowns. Their offense has been one of the worst in the NFL this season as they have scored 17.2 points per game, the 6th-fewest in the league. It’s been a disappointing season for QB Justin Fields, who has failed to meet expectations in his sophomore campaign. However, the lone bright spot of the team has been David Montgomery, who has 179 yards and a touchdown through 4 games.

Montgomery suffered an injury against the Texans, so he’s played in only 3 full games. But he’s their primary running back and will get the majority of their touches in the red zone on Thursday. If Chicago will score, Montgomery is their best chance.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer FAQs

What does “anytime touchdown scorer” mean?

Anytime touchdown scorer is a popular player prop bet that NFL bettors can wager on throughout the season. But what is it, and how do you win?

As the name suggests, placing a wager on the anytime touchdown scorer market is when you tip a particular player to score a touchdown during a game. This can be a rushing or receiving touchdown for an offensive player, or you can wager on a team’s defense/special teams to score a touchdown by interception return and fumble return or kickoff and punt returns.

If your player or defense scores a touchdown, you win! The odds will differ from player-to-player depending on the sportsbooks’ calculated probability of that player scoring.

Does anytime touchdown scorer include passing touchdowns?

Not for a quarterback, no. A player must get into the endzone, himself, in order to qualify as an anytime touchdown scorer. If a quarterback throws a touchdown pass, only the player who caught it counts as the scorer. If Joe Burrow throws a touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase, wagers placed on Evans as an anytime touchdown scorer will cash. However, those placed on Rodgers as an anytime touchdown scorer will not (unless he also runs for a TD). See below for more on what the anytime touchdown scorer market means for quarterbacks.

What does anytime touchdown scorer mean for a QB?

For a wager on a QB to be an anytime touchdown scorer to cash, he must follow the same rules as a running back, tight end, or receiver. He must get into the end zone himself, either as a runner or a pass-catcher.

In the age of the mobile quarterback, QBs such as Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Kyler Murray are often seen rushing in for a touchdown on any given Sunday. And don’t forget the occasional Philly Special, either. QBs can sometimes catch passes for TDs, too.
