The son of Uptowncharlybrown showed ability when making his debut in a maiden special weight over 2 furlongs at this venue in April last year. Beaten 4.5 lengths in finishing last of 5, having been slowly away on that occasion, and he has been off the track since. Delivered an improved work when clocking 49.36 in a 4-furlong breeze here recently and returning from an absence is taken to provide trainer Edward J Colletti Jr. with a winner.
12:49 pm Parx (Race 3) – Shpilkes 8/5 (2-star play)
Raced from off the pace when delivering an eye-catching 0.75 lengths 3rd in a 7.5-furlong turf maiden special weight here on debut in June 2021. Finished strongly on that occasion and while he’s evidently had his issues subsequently he tackles an easier contest on his main track debut here racing on lasix for the first time. Mychel J Sanchez takes the ride here with his mount taken to register a victory on his first start in well over 18 months.
2:49 pm Parx (Race 7) – Wilkinson Warrior 2/1 (2-star play)
Trainer John Servis does well here with the handler boasting a 26% strike rate (7 for 27) at this meeting. His representative here showed good form when racing prominently prior to finishing runner-up in a maiden special weight over a mile on debut debut earlier this month. Frankie Pennington, on board that day, is again in the saddle and with improvement likely his mount looks up to going one better to break his maiden at the second time of asking.
