Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself in being as transparent as they come. My NBA record from last season and this season are listed in my bio alongside with my MLB record. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Friday.

Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves) under 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-135)

Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing

The Ant-Man has been struggling from deep. He is 1 for his last 17 from beyond the arc and his attempts are down.

Tonight he faces off against the Philadelphia 76ers who will be debuting future hall of famer, James Harden. This should not effect Edwards since he will be primarily guarded by NBA All-Defensive Second Team defender, Matisse Thybulle.

The 76ers as a team allow the 3rd fewest made-threes per game and Edwards shot 1 for 8 against Philadelphia in their only meeting this season. I expect Edwards three-point shot and scoring in general to continue to struggle.

Jalen Brunson (Mavericks) over 17.5 points (-116)

Line available at Fanduel Sportsbook at time of publishing

Brunson is having a career year and playing himself into a nice payday in the offseason. He is averaging over 16.0 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. He trails only Jrue Holiday in field-goal percentage among point guards.

The Villanova alum was scorching hot before the all-star break. He has gone over this line in 7 of his last 10 games and 3 straight. The acquisition of Spencer Dinwiddie should not have any effect on Brunson’s minutes. Brunson is looked upon as the Dallas Mavericks co-star to Luka Doncic and will need to contribute in the scoring department against a Utah Jazz team that allows the 7th-most points to the shooting guard position.

I expect Brunson to carry over his pre-break success into this Western Conference showdown.
