Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself in being as transparent as they come. My NBA record from last season and this season are listed in my bio alongside with my MLB record. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite plays for Tuesday.

Karl-Anthony Towns (Timberwolves) over 27.5 points + assists (-120)

Line available at DraftKings at the time of publishing.

KAT burned us Friday with his inability to record 10 rebounds. A big part of that is the emergence of  frontcourt mate Jarred Vanderbilt. Tonight, I am targeting Towns points plus assists. He will have a tough matchup against Jonas Valanciunas on the glass but I am expecting the Kentucky All-Star to feed off his 40-point performance on Sunday. Towns has the ability to hit this prop with just points, but with the way he has been feeding his teammates, averaging close to 5 assists in his last 10 games, adding assists can only help us.

I spoke above about the tough rebounding matchup against Big Val but Towns has owned Valanciunas in the scoring department when they have gone head to head. Towns has recorded over 25 points in all 3 matchups this season against the Pelicans including a 7-assist performance. New Orleans allows the 6th-most points to the center position along with the 5th-most assists allowed.

KAT has gone over this line in 17/30 games this season and 3/3 against the Pelicans. I am looking for Towns to feed off his best game of the season on Sunday and continue to show the league that he is one of the best big men around.

Nikola Vucevic (Bulls) under 17.5 points (-122)

Line available at FanDuel at the time of publishing.

If you followed my picks in the beginning of the NBA season, you know that it was almost an auto-bet for me to fade Chicago’s big man. Nikola Vucevic started out the season hitting this line in only 3 of the first 15 games and just flat out was not getting the volume playing alongside All-Stars Zach Lavine and Demar Derozan. He has shown glimpses of his dominating days in Orlando but still has not fully adjusted. Now, you would think playing with a pass-first point guard in Lonzo Ball, that Nikola’s scoring stats would increase, but, that has not been the case. His points-per-game average in the 25 games with Lonzo is only 15.3 compared to 18.4 without the UCLA product.

Chicago faces Detroit tonight in a game that features a spread of 13 points. The Pistons are on a back-to-back and are playing their 6th game in 9 days. Expect to see tired legs and there’s a chance of Vucevic not even playing the 4th quarter due to the potential blowout.

Vucevic has gone under this line in 66% of the games he has played this season and his last 3 since Lonzo returned to the lineup. In the 2 games against Detroit this season, Vucevic scored only 15 points in each.
