I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. Mondays in the MLB generally provide a smaller slate of games, and today is quite a decrease. There are just 4 games on the board. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t value to be found. That’s what we’re here for, and we have targeted a great spot for you. By predicting if a run will be scored in the 1st inning or not, we can eliminate a lot of other variables that come along with a 3-hour long game. It can also make you profit in just about 15 minutes!

Along with these early plays, be sure to check out our MLB picks for all of today’s games.

Let’s take a closer look at my favorite YRFI bet for today.

Baltimore Orioles vs Boston Red Sox: YRFI (-120)

We don’t have any afternoon games to target, but this AL East showdown should be worth the wait.

The Orioles have exceeded all expectations this season, and are ahead of the Red Sox in the division. In fact, they’re still fighting for an AL wildcard spot. Unfortunately for O’s fans, starter Jordan Lyles doesn’t provide much confidence in a deep run. However, he does provide confidence for early action in this game. The former Ranger may be coming off of a strong start, but that was quite the anomaly. He allowed 12 runs in just 8.2 innings across his first 2 starts this month. The first of which was against the Red Sox, and they smashed him for 4 runs in the 1st inning. His previous start against Boston was a crazy high-scoring 15-10 game.

Sox rookie starter Connor Seabold wasn’t on the mound for that game, but he’s only in the rotation out of necessity. Boston has given him just 4 starts throughout the entire season, and he’s 0-3 with a 10.47 ERA. He’s allowed 1st inning runs in 3 of those 4 starts, including 4 to the Yankees last month. That, too, was at Fenway Park in Boston — where this game will be played. The famous Green Monster in left field has the stadium ranked 2nd for extra-base hits and 3rd for overall runs. With such poor pitching on the mound, this slow Monday night should see some excitement in this matchup.
