A full 15-game schedule is on the docket for Saturday as the week in Major League Baseball continues. It has a little bit of everything, complete with afternoon specials, showdowns across the pond and more than a few nationally televised contests. The Cubs and Cardinals are squaring off in London, while other highlights include Mets vs Phillies, Rangers vs Yankees and Astros vs Dodgers.

For this parlay we are going with two favorites on the run line and an underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the legs.

London is calling for the first leg of this mega parlay. Both teams come in playing well, as the Cubs are fresh off a sweep of the Pirates and the Cardinals have won 4 of their last 5. Taking the mound are Justin Steele of Chicago and Adam Wainwright of St. Louis. On paper that is a big advantage for the Cubs.
At 41 years old, there just isn’t much left in the tank for Wainwright, whose ERA is creeping close to 6.00. Steele also has the edge in that he is a ground-ball pitcher, which should mitigate most of the effects of the small stadium. Both lineups are fairly healthy, so all of the big bats should be on display in this one. I see the Cubs rocking Wainwright.
The Red Sox took the series opener 3-1 on Friday and I expect them to get the job done in the middle contest behind James Paxton. Through 7 starts this season, Paxton is 3-1 with a 3.29 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. Boston has won 3 of his 4 road outings and it has won 7 of its last 9 overall heading into Saturday. In other words, the visitors have to be feeling good about their chances.
Chicago is countering with Lance Lynn, who has been a complete disaster in 2023. The right-hander is 4-8 with a 6.51 ERA and 1.51 WHIP. Lynn could be in for a long day against an opponent that has scored at least 9 runs in 3 of its last 8 games.

The Yankees are not playing great and Luis Severino has not yet found his footing this year, but as underdogs – albeit slight – at home I will happily grab the value. Jon Gray of the Rangers is coming off his worst outing of the season in which he worked only 2.1 innings and allowed 6 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks against the Blue Jays. Giancarlo Stanton has homered twice in 13 at-bats against Gray, so perhaps this is a recipe to get him back on track. Nobody in the Rangers’ lineup has ever done anything of note against Severino. Give me the Bronx Bombers.
