MLB Sunday parlay at mega (+847) odds today 9/25: You can't count out Toronto

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (27) against the Philadelphia Phillies during the seventh inning at Citizens Bank Park.

It’s been a long week of baseball and it finally wraps up today. There will be games on all day as the Astros and Orioles start the day at 1:05 pm ET and the Red Sox-Yankees will wrap it up on Sunday Night Baseball at 7:08 pm ET. This mega parlay could pay out at nearly 9/1 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook, so let’s get into it!

For this parlay we are going with two run-line picks and one underdog money-line pick. Let’s break down each of the legs.

Toronto Blue Jays ML over Tampa Bay Rays (+120)

There’s a chance that Rays starter Shane McClanahan is not 100% healthy, and I think that offers value. McClanahan left his last start early due to neck tightness and claims he’s totally fine, but I’m not convinced. And since the Blue Jays have Ross Stripling on the mound, Toronto has an excellent chance to pull an upset. Stripling has been the best pitcher for the Blue Jays in the second half of the season, and although he was slightly roughed up in his previous outing against the Phillies, that was in a hitter-friendly stadium in Citizens Bank Park. This will be the third time the Blue Jays have faced McClanahan, so at some point I’m expecting some familiarity for the hitters. With such a high-powered offense, the Blue Jays have excellent value as underdogs.

San Diego Padres -1.5 over Colorado Rockies (+105)

These pitchers are trending in opposite directions. Mike Clevinger is coming off one of his best outings of the year as he threw 5.2 scoreless innings while surrendering just 3 hits to the high-powered Cardinals offense. Meanwhile, Kyle Freeland is due for major negative regression and ranks in the 20th percentile or worse in most pitching categories. Freeland has faced the Padres twice at home this season and has allowed 9 runs and 14 hits in 11 innings. The lefty has struggled at home, which is no surprise considering the hitter-friendly conditions at Coors Field, as he’s posted a 5.55 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP in 15 starts. He has a barrel rate near 10%, and the Padres’ balanced lineup should be able to score in bunches throughout the game.

New York Yankees -1.5 over Boston Red Sox (+110)

The Yankees will go for the 4-game sweep over the Red Sox on Sunday Night Baseball, and there’s no reason to believe Boston will put up a fight. Nestor Cortes will get the start for the Yankees, and he will be opposed by Brayan Bello, which offers a pitching advantage for New York. The rookie Bello faced the Yankees recently in Boston and allowed 3 runs and 6 hits in 5 innings. He has been improving significantly since making his MLB debut in July, but the Yankees offense has scored 17 runs this series, and no Boston starter or reliever has been able to limit New York’s offense. At home, Cortes has a 2.30 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP, and the Yankees have won 10 of his 13 starts in the Bronx. The Red Sox have waved the white flag on the season, and the Yankees should be able to take advantage of that.
