It’s do-or-die time for the Minnesota Timberwolves as they look to avoid the brooms tonight at Target Center. Denver aims to become the second team to advance to the next round after the 76ers swept the Nets last night. Tip-off is at 9:30 pm ET on TNT and I’ve prepared a Same Game Parlay which is available below.

Head over to our NBA predictions for picks on the side and total for Sunday’s NBA games. Let’s dive into my SGP bet now.

Minnesota Timberwolves 1-10 win margin (+220)

Anthony Edwards sure did sound confident in his post-game presser for someone whose team had just gone down 3-0 in the series. Ant-Man put on another show with 36 points and 7 rebounds, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 27, but the Timberwolves just couldn’t match the ball movement and rebounding of Denver. The absences of Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels are proving to be too big for this team, and with them in the lineup I feel like they could have at least won a couple of games in this series. With them now facing elimination I’m interested to see how they respond. Nobody wants a sweep on their résumé, so I think we’ll see a maximum effort by the Timberwolves players in this game. Denver has won by 29, 9 and 9 points in the 3 games so far, covering the spread in all 3 of them. Minnesota finished the regular season with a winning home record, so maybe they can give their fans something to cheer about, similar to what Atlanta did in Game 3 against Boston. I’ll take the Timberwolves to get a consolation win in this game.

Anthony Edwards to score 30+ points (+130)

The resurgence of Anthony Edwards has been the only bright spot for the Minnesota Timberwolves through 3 games of this series. After a slow start and just 18 points in the opener, Ant-Man has put up 41 and 36 points in his last 2 games, trying his best to keep his team in it. The shoulder injury that was bothering him in the play-in games is behind him, and he’s shot the ball at 50% from the field and 40% from three against Denver. The Nuggets’ perimeter defense has fallen off significantly during this series compared to the regular season. They’re allowing 37.2% of threes to be made, which would rank them 25th in the regular season with teams such as Houston, Portland and San Antonio being worse. After those comments made in the post-game press conference, I fully expect Edwards to come out firing.

Jamal Murray to score 30+ points (+430)

Unlike Minnesota where we have just one guy pilling up the stats, the Nuggets prefer to spread the wealth between Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray. So far Murray has led the team in scoring twice in the series, including a 40-point game in Game 2, looking like the Murray we saw in the bubble back in 2020. As good as Edwards is on offense, the biggest knock on him is that he doesn’t give you much on the defensive end and that’s been pretty evident in this series. Murray has also had some good games against the Timberwolves during the regular season, scoring at least 28 points in 3 of the last 6 games, so I think there’s a good chance he puts up solid numbers in this game as well. He and Edwards battled in Game 2 in Denver with each of them scoring 40+ points, so why not another game like that in Game 4?
