LA Lakers +7.5 Point Spread (-110)

The Celtics have been on a downward trajectory for a while now losing their last 3 games. The loss at home against the Knicks was a painful one, especially from Jaylen Brown’s point of view as he missed crucial free throws down the stretch which could have decided the game in Boston’s favor. The offense also isn’t clicking anymore, they’ve put up under 100 points in 2 of their last 3 games, we’ll see if that changes against the Lakers tonight. LA is on a run of 3 wins in their last 4 games, highly encouraged by the return of Anthony Davis to the line-up after a long lay-off due to injury. Bettors have made a ton of money off of them lately as they’ve covered the spread in 10 of their last 14 games, on the road they’ve done it 4 times in their last 5 games. With the Celtics failing to cover in 5 games straight, I’m not prepared to back them to beat a Lakers squad that’s 4-2 SU in their last 6 games. Take LeBron and co. to cover on the road.

LeBron James to Record 10+ Rebounds (+250)

James has been on a scoring tear for a while now averaging 33.6 points per game in his last 9 outings, but I’m focusing more on his rebounding here. With Anthony Davis back in the line-up he won’t have to do as much offensively, so look for him to take a step back and focus more on other tasks such as rebounding the ball. He’s been stellar in that aspect as well averaging 9.4 boards per game in his last 9 outings. One of Boston’s biggest issues during this 3-game losing streak has been rebounding, opponents have gotten 56.7 boards a night against them during that stretch which ranks 2nd worst in the entire NBA. Meanwhile the Lakers have been solid in that department as a team recording 58 per game in their last 3, including grabbing 69 in their last win over San Antonio. Rebounds are mostly about will and determination and at this stage of his career, I don’t think anyone is more determined to get the 50-50 balls than LeBron. Count on him to be active in this one.

Russell Westbrook Over 5.5 Assists (-142)

One guy that’s been active off the bench for the Lakers has definitely been Russell Westbrook. He is putting up some historic numbers as a 6th man, and at the end of the season he might even be in the conversation for the 6th man of the year award. Russ was more focused on scoring against the Spurs in his last game, but overall in his last 10 he’s averaged 6.7 dimes per game. He is another player that will only benefit from the return of Anthony Davis as he has yet another reliable scoring option to pass the ball to. Plus, the absence of Marcus Smart also helps him a bit as he has one less elite defender to worry about here. In his last 6 games vs Boston he has cleared this line 4 times, and he should be able to do so tonight as well as I’m expecting a really high paced game here.
