Hopefully we can make some money together! Oh, and I firmly believe Lebron James is not one of the two best basketball players of all time. Yeah, I said it. I landed my third parlay win this season on Tuesday with a +415 odds success in my Spurs vs Suns SGP, so why not go for another winner tonight? I’m focusing on the first part of the ESPN doubleheader as the New Orleans Pelicans take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tip-off is at 7.30 pm ET. It’s a 13-game night in the NBA on Wednesday, so visit our NBA predictions for picks on every game. Let’s dive into my bet now!

New Orleans Pelicans ML (+136)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to score 35+ points (+175)

Same Game Parlay odds: +636

New Orleans Pelicans ML (+136)

This promises to be an exciting encounter between two evenly matched teams. I would give a slight edge to the Pelicans , as they are equipped with more offensive talent. They also won 3 of the 4 regular-season meetings last year, including both played in Oklahoma City, which is encouraging. The Thunder are yet to figure out Zion Williamson, who has played really well against them in the last 5 meetings, averaging 24.6 points per game on almost 60% shooting.

Chet Holmgren’s thin frame is no match for the strength and size of Zion, so look for him to dominate on the inside. Following the 28-point home loss to the Warriors, the Pelicans will want to make amends. They’ve won 5 of the teams’ last 6 meetings at the Paycom Center and after seeing OKC get trounced by the Nuggets in their home opener on Sunday I am just not feeling them right now.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to score 35+ points (+175)

SGA scored just 7 points in that defeat to Denver, but he bounced back with 32 the following game against the Detroit Pistons. It was already his third game of 30+ points in 4 outings this season, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering he is just 1 of only 11 players in the NBA currently averaging 20 or more field-goal attempts per game.

Everything goes through Shai on offense for the Thunder, especially in games against the Pelicans, in which he’s averaging 33.2 points a night in the last 5 meetings. Of those 33.2 points, 10.4 per game have come from the charity stripe, where he’s shooting 91.2%. I think it’s time for a new season-high for SGA, even if it comes in a loss.
