New York Knicks +8 over Boston Celtics (-110)

Boston is the best team in basketball by most metrics, as the Celtics sit at 1st in NET rating and boast a top 5 unit on both offense and defense. Despite suffering some bad injury luck, this is still a well-oiled machine that is the favorite to get back to the NBA Finals for a reason.

With Boston’s excellent record at TD Garden, conventional wisdom would suggest that you should lay the points with the Celtics on Thursday. However, recent history in this Knicks-Celtics rivalry begs to differ, with 5 of the last 8 games being decided by 2 possessions or less. Additionally, the Knicks have a better team on the road this season, posting a 14-10 record away from the friendly confines of Madison Square Garden. Expect another close game in this ongoing rivalry.

Don’t miss our NBA mega parlay for tonight at +611 odds!

Jalen Brunson over 23.5 points (+100)

With Marcus Smart ruled out for Thursday’s contest, the door has opened for Jalen Brunson to have another big night. The Knicks point guard has been a revelation for New York this season, averaging nearly 23 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor. Brunson hasn’t cleared this number in 3 consecutive games, but prior to that he was scoring with ease, tallying 26+ points in 7 straight games. If the Knicks are going to keep this close, Brunson will have to be in command of the offense throughout the night.

Julius Randle is sure to draw the attention of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, giving Brunson advantageous matchups against Boston’s weakened perimeter defense without Smart. Look for the Knicks floor general to hunt for his shot in this one.

Jayson Tatum 4+ threes (+110)

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Jayson Tatum is an MVP candidate this season. Following his ascension in last season’s playoffs, Tatum has announced himself as an elite 2-way player and he’s averaging 31 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists this season on great efficiency from the field.

The Celtics leader is also remaining consistent from beyond the 3-point arc while increasing his volume from a season ago. Just in the last 9 games alone, Tatum has attempted 92 threes and converted on 35 of those attempts. This has enabled him to hit at least 4 threes in 6 of the last 9 games, and his attempts remain consistent whether the game is close or a blowout. Tatum will undoubtedly look to find a rhythm with his jumper early and often on Thursday, and I expect another strong showing from downtown.
