New York Knicks ML (+152)

I think the Knicks have a solid chance at pulling off the upset in at least one of the next 2 games in Miami. Considering Jimmy Butler’s ankle injury is still bothering him, it could very well happen in Game 3. The Heat are already troubled by injuries with their best shooter Tyler Herro and their best defensive guard off the bench Victor Oladipo being out, and you can only manage well for so long without several key players. Meanwhile the Knicks just got Julius Randle back from his ankle injury, and he was the difference-maker in Game 2. With him they will be a much tougher opponent to handle, especially on the glass, which has been Miami’s Achilles heel in some games. On the road the Knicks had one of the better records during the regular season, plus in their opening round against the Cavs they were able to win twice in their arena, including the series-clincher. They’re 5-2 SU against Miami in their last 7 meetings, and they split the 2 meetings in South Beach during the regular season. I wouldn’t discount the Knicks lightly, and will back them to pull off the upset in Game 3.

Julius Randle over 7.5 rebounds (-125)

New York finally has a healthy Julius Randle back and with him in the lineup they look like a completely different team. Randle had his best game of the postseason in Game 2 as he scored 25 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 8 assists. He was aggressive all night, going to the line 6 times which tied his playoff-high. The ankle injury that was bothering him is a thing of the past now, so the Knicks are going with high hopes into these next 2 games in South Beach. Randle was one of the main reasons they had a 24-17 SU record on the road during the regular season — he averaged 10.3 rebounds per game in those games which is 0.6 per game higher than he averages at MSG. In 8 visits to Miami in his career he’s averaging exactly 7.5 boards per game, and he’s cleared this line in 4 of his last 6 road games there. I’m expecting another solid defensive effort by the Knicks in today’s game, as neither team has yet shot 50% from the field in this series. I think Randle should grab a decent chunk of the Heat misses in this one.

We also have a Warriors vs Lakers Same Game Parlay at +689 odds!

Gabe Vincent over 2.5 made threes (-120)

Gabe Vincent has been a reliable scoring option for the Heat during their postseason run, and now with Butler’s status up in the air he is expected to carry the offense again, as he did in Game 2. He’s averaging 15.1 points per game in 7 postseason games, but more importantly he’s at over 40% efficiency from 3-point land during that stretch. During the regular season he shot it even better against the Knicks at 45% from three, so there is something about this team that just gets him going. He’s scored at least 3 threes in 5 of 7 games, currently he’s on a streak of 3 straight games of doing so and at least 20 points scored in each of those games. I think the Heat will continue riding his hot hand, especially since the Knicks defense struggles a bit more defending the perimeter on the road. During the regular season, opponents averaged 36.6% of made shots from deep against them, compared to just 34.4% at MSG. I had Vincent in my SGP in Game 2, so why not continue backing him to do well?
