Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The Toronto Raptors will look to even the season series against the Brooklyn Nets tonight. They were able to pick up their first win against them in dominant fashion last night, winning 133-97 on the road. Now playing in Toronto against the same opponent, they should be confident that they can repeat that performance. Doing so would open the gap further between these teams in the Eastern Conference standings.

You can see our full game previews here, but for now let’s check out my Nets and Raptors same game parlay below.

Scottie Barnes over 25.5 points + rebounds + assists

Gary Trent Jr. over 1.5 steals

Over 223.5

Parlay odds: +700

Scottie Barnes over 25.5 points + rebounds + assists

The Raptors rookie was phenomenal last night against the Nets. Barnes combined for 48 points, rebounds and assists . He was able to make his first 10 shots of the game and ended up shooting 12-14 as he had a lot of success crashing the offensive glass. Barnes pulled down 9 boards on that end which lead to 16 second chance points for the forward. This was his second game since the all-star break in which he has scored 28 points and it is hard to see what adjustments the Nets could make here.

With Khem Birch and Pascal Siakam on the inside, Andre Drummond and James Johnson are occupied. It leaves smaller players like Bruce Brown Jr. to pick him up. That should ensure Barnes continues to get good looks in the post and is able to finish in the paint. Look for the rookie to put together another strong night.

Gary Trent Jr. over 1.5 steals

Gary Trent Jr. is currently in the top 5 in the league in steals per game, averaging 1.9 per game this season. He was able to up his average to 2 per game in February after his 5-steal performance against the Nets last night. He has now recorded at least 2 steals against the Nets in 2 of the 3 games they have played so far this season. The Raptors were able to force the Nets to make 23 turnovers last night and should continue to see success turning their opponents over. The Nets are trying to incorporate 2 new guards into the team in Seth Curry and Goran Dragic, which can always lead to broken down offensive plays. Considering that Trent Jr. is a terrific on ball defender too and can pick anyone’s pocket, there are enough avenues for him to hit this line here.

Over 223.5

The teams combined for 230 points last night and it looks set to be another high scoring game tonight. The 97 points the Nets scored was their lowest tally in 8 games and they could see an uptick on that tonight. On the other side of the court, they have ranked just 28th in defensive rating over the last 10 games.

Over that same stretch the Raptors have been 2nd in second chance points and 6th in fast break points per game. With both teams in the bottom 10 in the league in opponent fast break points per game during that time, they should be vulnerable in transition. That should ensure there are enough additional points for both sides to pick up for this over to hit.
