NFL MNF San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals Same Game Parlay at +878 odds: Brandon Aiyuk thrives in primetime

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (11) celebrates after the game against the Minnesota Vikings at Levi's Stadium.

It’s time for Monday Night Football, but this time we travel to Mexico City. The 49ers take on the Cardinals in what should be a very exciting NFC West battle with both teams chasing the Seahawks (who would have expected that?). For this primetime game we have come up with a Same Game Parlay with +878 odds.

Below is our SGP for MNF, and also be sure to check out our full San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals predictions on the side and total.

Under 42.5 (-105)

Brandon Aiyuk over 56.5 receiving yards (-114)

James Conner to score a touchdown (+100)

Parlay odds: +878

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose, but the odds would be better if they “go against” each other. That is the entire plan here, as James Conner to score and Brandon Aiyuk to have a big receiving day do not correlate with the under. Let’s break down each of the SGP legs.

Under 42.5 (-105)

The 49ers’ defense has been impressive. They have held opponents to 16 points or fewer in 4 of their last 6 games, and if Murray is sidelined again it seems hard to fathom that Colt McCoy will thrive against the San Francisco defense. Dating back to Week 10 the Niners have allowed the fewest yards and the 3rd-fewest points in the league. They have a brick wall of a defensive line that has allowed the fewest rushing yards combined with a no-fly zone of a secondary that has surrendered the 4th-fewest passing yards. Even if Murray is healthy enough to start, he might be without his favorite weapon in Hopkins. That would cause Conner to have a heavy workload against an outstanding San Francisco run defense. The 49ers defense should limit the Arizona scoring, and I don’t have enough faith in the San Francisco offense to score 24+ points.

Brandon Aiyuk over 56.5 receiving yards (-114)

I’m very surprised to see Aiyuk’s total as low as this. He’s recorded at least 57 yards in 5 consecutive games, including 80 or more yards in 4 consecutive games. He’s established himself as Jimmy G’s favorite target downfield, as he has accumulated 35 targets in his last 4 games. Of those 35 targets he has hauled in 27, so you don’t see Aiyuk dropping many passes. The 49ers last 4 games have come against defenses that rank 8th, 11th, 21st and 32nd in passing yards allowed, and Aiyuk has a fortunate matchup against a Cardinals defense that ranks 29th. The Arizona defense is banged up and Aiyuk should be the main benefactor of their struggles.

Our expert has locked in his Monday Night Football player prop best bets!

James Conner to score a touchdown (+100)

For this edition of Monday Night Football there is lot of uncertainty surrounding the Arizona offense. We might see Colt McCoy for a 2nd consecutive week as both Murray and DeAndre Hopkins are questionable due to hamstring problems. As such, I’ll choose a player that will have a big day regardless of whether Murray plays or not. In the 1st part of the season Conner was sidelined for several games due to an injury, but last week against the Rams we finally caught a peek of the old Conner. In Week 10 he was the centerpiece of the Arizona attack without Murray, rushing 21 times for 69 yards and 2 scores. Conner is a threat to make a couple catches, as well, so we might see a few check-downs to him that result in significant gains. And when the Cardinals are in the red zone, I predict that Conner will get the majority of touches.
