Since I unfortunately never had LeBron James' jumping ability I wasn't able to make it to the NBA, and chose writing about sports as the next best thing. The NFL preseason is officially winding down. The first two weeks have been a ton of fun and the third and final week will wrap up with our last batch of 5 games on Sunday. Here at Pickswise we will be bringing you great NFL content all season, with free picks on sides and totals, parlays, mega parlays, etc.

It’s also not too late to wager on our NFL futures, either, which you can find alongside our NFL picks. But right now we’re talking preseason, and specifically these Sunday games. Let’s break down my best bets, with a little note on their parlay odds if you want to pool them together.

San Francisco 49ers -3.5

New England Patriots -3.5

Preseason parlay odds: +264

Let’s break down each play.

San Francisco 49ers -3.5 (-110) over Las Vegas Raiders

It’s clear which team wants to win this one more. Jon Gruden isn’t being as aggressive in this preseason as he has been in the past, and Raiders QB Derek Carr isn’t going to play. On the flip side, it looks like both Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance will see time under center for the 49ers. Kyle Shanahan wants Lance to get as comfortable as possible before he begins his rookie season, so I think we’ll see a lot of him — and Shanahan should put him in good positions.

Last week the Raiders managed to beat the Rams by only 1 point. Sean McVay sits practically his entire roster for preseason games, and barely even fields a team, so Las Vegas’ squeaker of a win certainly wasn’t inspiring. Nathan Peterman should once again get the bulk of the work at quarterback for the Raiders, and he just threw a couple of interceptions to deep Rams reserves.

New England Patriots -3.5 (-110) over New York Giants

The Patriots are a preseason force to be reckoned with. They have been downright dominant through their first 2 games, most recently bludgeoning the Eagles 35-0. New England held Philly scoreless, and then the Eagles proceeded to score 31 in their next game, so I’d say they played pretty good defense. The Giants have scored only 20 points through their first two games, both losses, so it’s not like we’ll need an amazing effort from the Pats to cash this anyway.

Like the 49ers, the Patriots also have a first-round rookie quarterback in Mac Jones whom they want to get a lot of work this weekend. After Daniel Jones (who might struggle in his own right), the Giants have only Mike Glennon and undrafted rookie Brian Lewerke at quarterback.
