We have a great matchup set for Sunday Night Football as the Kansas City Chiefs battle the Las Vegas Raiders in an interesting all-AFC West clash. The Chiefs have won their last two games but still look a shell of what they were last season, and they will be hoping to make a statement here on primetime that they are still the big dogs of the division and top Super Bowl contenders. As for the Raiders, their off-the-field issues continue to pile up but they can take plenty of comfort from the fact that they are still a 5-3 team. They will be highly motivated for this one knowing that a win over KC would go a long way in their efforts to make the postseason.

This is sure to be an exciting matchup, but to make it even more thrilling we’ve come up with a 3-leg same game parlay that pays over 12/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook.

Kansas City Chiefs -6.5 alternate spread (+160)

Patrick Mahomes over 287.5 passing yards (-114)

Darren Waller to score a touchdown (+110)

Parlay odds: +1233

The benefit of same game parlays is that you can add in some contradictory plays to really boost the odds, when in actuality they might not conflict too much. That’s the plan here, as I’m expecting a fairly comfortable Chiefs win with a big bounce-back game from Patrick Mahomes. However, I still like the Raiders to score at least a couple of touchdowns given how bad the KC defense has been, and Waller looks the man to do it for Vegas. Let’s break it all down.

Kansas City Chiefs -6.5 (+160)

There are a few reasons to not be a fan of this pick. The Chiefs’ spread record is atrocious, and they have severely struggled in recent weeks. Even last week against the Aaron Rodgers-less Packers, they only won 13-7 and found it difficult to get anything going on offense. That said, Kansas City has been able to restore some stability and they will no doubt view this game as a big chance to truly get their season back on track and bolster their bid for the AFC West.

The Raiders might be 5-3, but it appears their off-the-field issues are starting to catch up to them. They slumped to a 23-16 defeat to the Giants last week and are struggling to get their ground game going, averaging just 3.7 yards per carry. While the Chiefs have proven to be vulnerable through the air this season, they did a terrific job in shutting down Jordan Love and their pass-rush looked much better than it has all season. If they can do the same to Derek Carr here, expect them to record some turnovers as a result. I see the Chiefs trending upwards for the rest of the season, while for the Raiders the only way is down. That should show in this game, where Kansas City can stamp its authority.

Patrick Mahomes over 287.5 passing yards (-114)

Again, there are reasons why people might not like this pick. For one, Mahomes has topped this line just once in his last 7 games, and now comes against a Raiders defense that statistically has been solid against the past — but stats can be misleading. Las Vegas’ last four QBs it has faced have been Justin Fields, Teddy Bridgewater, Jalen Hurts, and Daniel Jones. Mahomes is on another level to those QBs and after everything that’s gone on I’m expecting him to be pumped up to put on a show and punish the Vegas secondary with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce at his disposal. He should also take comfort from the fact that the Raiders have just 4 interceptions this season (6th-fewest in the NFL).

Darren Waller to score a touchdown (+110)

It’s no secret that the Chiefs have struggled mightily against the pass in 2021, but the one position that has caused them a real headache has been tight end. Heading into Week 10, the Chiefs had allowed more yards to tight ends than any other team, and only the Eagles had allowed more touchdowns to tight ends. Now they must take on one of the best in the game in Darren Waller, who continues to get plenty of targets from Carr. Waller has only found the endzone twice this season, but I’m expecting him to have opportunities against this Chiefs team. If he does score a TD, then this SGP should be in with a great shot on Sunday night.
