The first couple weeks of the 2021 NFL season have been epic. Now we’ll be treated to another full slate this coming Sunday for Week 3. We have a battle between 0-2 teams here as the New York Giants host the Atlanta Falcons. Somebody has to emerge victorious. What better way to make this NFC showdown even more exciting than by betting a same game parlay? We also have thoughts on the side and total for every Week 3 matchup, of course, which you can view in our NFL picks tab.

But let’s dive into this same game parlay:

Atlanta Falcons -6.5 (+270)

Saquon Barkley to record 70+ rushing yards (+118)

Same Game Parlay odds: +1270

We have a simple 2-leg same game parlay which pays out just north of 12/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s break it down:

Atlanta Falcons -6.5 (+270)

To start this same game parlay off, the Falcons are being undervalued. The Giants are coming off as demoralizing a loss as you can imagine to Washington, and New York just gave up 30 points to Taylor Heinicke. The scoreboard says the Falcons lost a lopsided game to the Buccaneers last week, but the final score there is very misleading. Atlanta out-gained the Bucs, and had the ball down three in the fourth quarter.

A lot of people are piling on to criticize the Falcons’ offense, but they’ve had two really tough matchups to start the season. The Buccaneers and Eagles are two of the best defenses in the league. Daniel Jones laying points against just about anybody is a little ridiculous. New York’s offensive line was already shaky, and then starting guard Shane Lemieux went down with a season-ending injury last week.

Saquon Barkley to record 70+ rushing yards (+118)

We get a huge odds boost by combining this with the first leg of our same game parlay. But I don’t think it conflicts much. Barkley had 57 last week, and that was a game where he only got 13 carries and didn’t play very well. He had a long of 41 though. Barkley is always a threat to bust just one or two huge plays, so he could very easily get to 70 without the Giants’ offense having a good game overall.

Prior to his ACL tear, Barkley had gotten to at least 70 rushing yards in 15 of 29 games, and that includes many 100+ efforts. The Falcons have struggled to stop the run a bit this year, allowing 4.9 yards per rush attempt so far. All we need to cash this same game parlay is for the Falcons to play well overall, but for Barkley to break one or two of his patented big runs. Catching better than 12/1? I’ll take that all day.
