The first few weeks of the 2021 NFL season have been epic. Now we’ll be treated to another full slate this coming Sunday for Week 5. We’ve got a pivotal NFC East clash as the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants. Will Dallas start to pull away in the division, or will New York pull a second straight upset? What better way to make this rivalry game even more exciting than by betting a same game parlay? We also have thoughts on the side and total for every Week 5 matchup, of course, which you can view in our NFL picks tab.

But let’s dive into this same game parlay:

New York Giants -6.5 (+500)

Kadarius Toney over 47.5 receiving yards (-113)

Same Game Parlay odds: +1124

We have a simple 2-leg same game parlay which pays out just shy of 12/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s break it down:

New York Giants -6.5 (+500)

The Giants were being underestimated last week, and oddsmakers are making the same mistake in Week 5. New York went on the road and beat the Saints outright as underdogs of about a touchdown last week, and I think they’ve got a great shot to do the same thing here. For starters, the G-Men were never as bad as the media had you believing. Their first loss came in Week 1 to a really good Broncos team. Their next two came by a combined four points, and they arguable should’ve won both.

Nobody seems to be paying attention, but Daniel Jones has quietly been playing really well. I mean the guy went into the Superdome, arguably the most hostile environment in the league for road teams, and dropped 402 yards while averaging 10.1 yards per attempt. Jason Garrett isn’t the most popular guy as an offensive coordinator, but he’s doing a great job of scheming to his players’ strengths. Last season, Jones only averaged 7.2 YPA or more in three games. This season? He’s done it in all four contests.

Kadarius Toney over 47.5 receiving yards (-113)

I think this correlates nicely with the first leg of our same game parlay. If the Giants are covering the -6.5, it’s going to be because Jones is playing very well. For that to happen, they’ll need big contributions from Toney. Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton are both out again for this one, ensuring the first-round rookie will receive plenty of looks. Because of those injuries, Toney got his first heavy usage las week and he capitalized on the opportunity.

The Florida product caught six of nine targets for 78 yards, and that was against a really tough Saints defense. Garrett and Jones made getting Toney the ball a priority, and he certainly earned even more targets. He took a screen pass for a first down on a 3rd-and-18, showing how dangerous he is with the ball in his hands. His strong play last week will be rewarded here.
