NFL Week 7 same game parlay (+1275 odds): New York Jets vs New England Patriots

New England Patriots running back Damien Harris (37) reacts after scoring against the Dallas Cowboys in the first quarter at Gillette Stadium.

The New England Patriots will be happy to see the New York Jets come into Gillette Stadium on Sunday as they look to extend their active winning streak against their divisional opponents to 12 games.

The Pats have dominated this series since Bill Belichick arrived in Foxborough and are 6-2 ATS in recent encounters. Therefore, this looks a good opportunity for the Pats to pick up a first home win of the season against the 1-4 Jets, who enter this game off a bye week following a dreadful showing in London. Zach Wilson is finding life in the NFL tough and didn’t enjoy his first encounter with rookie quarterback destroyer Belichick, with Wilson throwing four interceptions in a 25-6 defeat.

Can Wilson do better this time around? We think he might, including a Jets receiving yards prop in our same game parlay with FanDuel that offers +1275 odds.

New England Patriots -3.5 (-170) *alt total

First half total under 21.5 (-120)

Damien Harris anytime touchdown scorer (+115)

Jamison Crowder over 50.5 receiving yards (-114)

Parlay odds: +1275

Let’s take a closer look at each leg.

New England Patriots -3.5 (-170) *alt total

The Pats are laying seven points with most sportsbooks entering this Week 7 matchup and will like their chances of covering that number having won the last five home meetings with the Jets by 14 points or more. However, off the back of their best offensive performance of the season against Dallas where they put up 29 points, there could be some regression.

The Pats were averaging less than 20 points per game before the Cowboys game, while the Jets defense hasn’t been terrible this year and has yet to give up more than 27 points. On the flip side, Dallas pushed the Pats defense around last week and taking all that into consideration, it could prove wise to tease the spread down for parlay purposes.

First half total under 21.5 (-120)

There are many things wrong with this season’s Jets and one of the biggest problems is their inability to get out of the gate quickly. Whatever scripted plays offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains is coming up to start games clearly aren’t working as the Jets are averaging 2.6 points in the first half of games this year.

In total, they have only managed to score 13 points in the first two quarters, including one touchdown. New England are hardly exploding out of the blocks either, averaging 9.3 points per half this year, it’s unlikely they’ll be any early fireworks.

Damien Harris anytime touchdown scorer (+115)

Harris had his best outing of the season against the Cowboys in Week 6, going for 101 yards and a touchdown. That was the running back’s third TD of the year as he also got in the endzone having opened his account for 2021 in the Week 2 game with the Jets. The Patriots backfield has been a minefield in recent times but with injuries restricting their options, Harris is clearly the number one back ahead of Rhamondre Stevenson.

Harris has seen more redzone activity than any other member of the Patriots offense and while the Jets defense doesn’t rank badly against running backs, they have still managed to give up six touchdowns to the position this year.

Jamison Crowder over 50.5 receiving yards (-114)

The last time these two met, Braxton Berrios led the Jets in receiving yards with 73 yards. They have gotten a little healthier at the position since then with Jamison Crowder’s return to action proving a big plus. He’s quickly worked his way into the rotation, receiving more targets in the win over the Titans and finishing just one behind Corey Davis in the loss to the Falcons.

The Patriots head into this game a little banged up in the secondary and have given up close to 1100 yards to wide receivers this year. With Crowder projected to lead the Jets offense in New England, he could be the man to complete our parlay.
