UFC 251 best bets

Main Card

Jessica Andrade (+162) Over Rose NamajunasĀ

One of our favorite bets on the UFC 251 main card will be the fight involving Jessica Andrade and Rose Namajunas. This will be a rematch of the fight that took place in May of 2019. This was an Andrade win by TKO in the 2nd round. Andrade now comes into this fight with an MMA record of 20-7 and 11-5 in the UFC. She is the #1 contender in the Women’s Strawweight division after losing her title back in August of 2019 to the current titleholder, Zhang Weili.

Andrade is a very balanced fighter, landing an average of 6.55 significant strikes per minute. She also can take a fight to the ground as she averages 3.21 takedowns per every 15 minutes. The one problem to watch out for is she absorbs 5.28 significant strikes per minute, so she tends to take a ton of damage. This was brought to light when Andrade was knocked out by Weili in the first round back in August of 2019. She has had plenty of time to work on her defense, and I believe that will prepare her for this rematch and potential set-up to another title shot.

Preliminary Card

Karol Rosa (-215) Over Vanessa Melo

One of our other favorite bets at UFC 251 is a fight that will see Karol Rosa take on Vanessa Melo. Rosa is coming off an impressive UFC debut, where she beat Lara Fritzen Procopio by unanimous decision. Rosa out-struck Procopio in this fight, 171 to 165, so it was quite close, yet she clearly was the better fighter. She is landing an average of 11.40 significant strikes per minute. Not only that, but her striking accuracy is 48%, which comes in much better than what Vanessa Melo has shown.

Vanessa Melo, is 10-7 in the MMA, but 0-2 in the UFC. Mel0 lost both of her UFC fights by decision, most recently to Tracy Cortez and before that to Irene Aldana. Against Cortez, Melo was out-struck 79 to 40 an against Aldana; she was out-struck 125 to 68. Even at a steep price, I like Rosa to dominate Melo just like her other opponents have done. That being said, I will lay the juice and back Rosa to get a comfortable win.
