Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another terrific Tuesday of sports. We have yet more NBA and NHL playoff action today, as well as a great MLB slate and EPL soccer, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

76ers cause an upset
The 76ers were 10-point underdogs in their Game 1 against the Celtics last night, but won outright by 119-115 with 45 points from James Harden. The Nuggets moved into a 2-0 lead over the Suns in the later game with a 97-87 success, covering a 4.5-point line.

Devils deliver in Game 7
The Devils clinched their rollercoaster NHL series against the Rangers with a convincing 4-0 Game 7 victory after opening the scoring in the second period with a shorthanded goal. They now travel to Carolina to face the Hurricanes on Wednesday.

Close MLB finishes
It was only an 8-game MLB slate on Monday but there was still plenty of drama, with the Red Sox beating the Blue Jays 6-5 through a walkoff homer and the Guardians winning 3-2 on the road against the Yankees. The late game was not so close, though, as the Dodgers crushed the Phillies 13-4. The Braves and Mets split their doubleheader.

Best Bet of the Day

NBA: Under 228 points in LA Lakers vs Golden State Warriors
10:00 pm ET, TNT

This should a completely different series for Golden State to the one against the Kings. Unlike Sacramento, the Lakers actually care about the defensive end. So far in the postseason only the Philadelphia 76ers have the better defensive rating than L.A., and that’s with the Lakers averaging almost 10 more possessions per game than Philly. This series will most likely be decided on that end of the floor because if the Lakers fall into the Warriors’ trap of competing in shooting 3s, they stand no chance. The Lakers are 4-1 on the under in their last 5 games, while the Warriors are 4-2 in their last 6. At the Chase Center this season Golden State is 18-25-1 on the O/U. After a draining Game 7 on Sunday in Sacramento, the Warriors may not try to run as much tonight. Read our full Lakers vs Warriors predictions.
