Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another wonderful Wednesday of sports. We’ve got plenty of NBA, NHL and MLB action today — plus the Masters is nearly here, too, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Embiid makes MVP statement
Joel Embiid might’ve put together his best game of the season when his team needed him the most, dropping 52 points in a 103-101 win over the Celtics that could serve as a 2nd-round playoff preview. There was also drama out west, as the Lakers needed overtime to knock off the Jazz, while the Warriors retained the #6 seed with a victory over the Thunder at home.

Drama builds in NHL Central Division
With just 5 games remaining for most NHL teams, the most compelling storyline is the race for the Central Division title. The defending champion Colorado Avalanche are now tied with the Stars and Wild at 98 points after defeating the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday. Other notable results included the Oilers winning their 5th straight and the Devils dominating the Penguins 5-1.

Blue Jays cash our 3-star MLB play
Tuesday was another busy night across Major League Baseball and our own Keith Schmelter stayed hot with a 3-star best bet winner on the Toronto Blue Jays — who knocked off the Royals 4-1. Elsewhere, the Braves beat the Cardinals, the Rays stayed undefeated with a win over the Nationals and the Phillies bested the Yankees in the Bronx.

NHL doubleheader on TNT
There are just 3 games in the NHL on Wednesday, with TNT showing a doubleheader of Lightning vs Rangers at 7:30 pm ET and Oilers vs Ducks at 10:00 pm ET. Read today’s NHL predictions.

Don’t forget about baseball
There are 13 more MLB games on Wednesday, including plenty of daytime matchups on the diamond. Be sure to read all of today’s MLB predictions before wagering on any of the action.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: San Francisco Giants vs Chicago White Sox under 7.5 (-110)
2:10 pm ET

The best pitching matchup of the day takes place in the South Side of Chicago. Logan Webb will toe the rubber for the visiting Giants, and he will be countered by Dylan Cease for the White Sox. The pair of aces were incredible on Opening Day, as they both had double-digit strikeouts. Webb took the loss to the Yankees, even though he struck out 12 batters because he allowed 2 home runs. Of the 4 runs he allowed to New York, 3 were from home runs, and the 4th was when a reliever allowed Webb’s runner to score. That explains why his 6.00 ERA is paired with a 2.83 xERA, as the hitter-friendly conditions of Yankee Stadium worked against Webb. Read our full Giants vs White Sox predictions.
