Welcome to another wonderful week of sports. What a wild Sunday we had, with a pair of really tight NHL Game 7s and a couple of NBA Game 7s that were not close at all! Those sports are preparing for the next round of their playoffs today, but we have a nice MLB slate and an EPL soccer game on the schedule, so there’s still fun to be had. Let’s get straight into making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Big wins for Celtics and Mavericks
No Bucks and the Suns gone — it sounds like a terrible vacation, but it’s what we got in the NBA Playoffs last night as Milwaukee’s reign as NBA champion was ended by a 109-81 loss in Boston. The Phoenix Suns also suffered a stunning loss, going down 123-90 at home to a rampant Mavericks team after trailing 57-27 at halftime.  The Warriors are now +120 favorites to win the championship with FanDuel Sportsbook as we head toward the conference finals, with the Celtics at +200, the Heat +420 and the Mavericks +650.

Rangers and Flames win in OT
Home-ice advantage finally told in Sunday’s NHL Playoff games, but only in overtime as the Rangers beat the Penguins 4-3 with netminder Igor Sherterkin making 42 saves, and the Flames beat the Stars 3-2 in OT. Johnny Gaudreau’s winning goal for Calgary also cashed our prop play of over 1.5 points at +165 odds.

Pirates win with no hits, Pujols pitches
You don’t need 10 home runs to have an interesting baseball game, statistically at least. The Pirates managed to beat the Reds 1-0 on Sunday despite having no hits in the game thanks to scoring via 3 walks and a groundout. If you prefer a little more offense with your baseball, the Cardinals beat the Giants 15-6 on Sunday Night Baseball and had such a big lead they let Albert Pujols pitch for the first time in his career. The Pickswise team went 10-5 on totals on Sunday’s games.

Today’s Slate

13 MLB games on the schedule
With the NBA and NHL taking a break, it’s nice that there’s a bigger Monday MLB slate than we have most weeks, with 13 games to enjoy. Astros vs Red Sox will be live on MLB Network at 7:10 pm ET, while Braves vs Brewers is being shown on ESPN+ at 7:40 pm ET. We have action running through to Diamondbacks vs Dodgers at 10:10 pm ET. Read our preview of all today’s baseball games.

Key matchup in the EPL
Arsenal needs a win against Newcastle today (3:00pm ET, USA/Universo) to get back above Tottenham in the race for the valuable final top-4 place in the EPL. Check out our previews of today’s game.

Best Bet of the Day

Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 over Detroit Tigers
6:40 pm ET

Following a sweep of the Orioles, the Tigers have to take a massive step up in class as they head to Tampa to take on a much stronger AL East team. Detroit has still won only 5 games this month, while 7 of the Rays’ last 9 wins have been by multiple runs, and the entire league has scored more runs than Detroit. The Rays were able to shut out the bats of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette, so Detroit should not cause them many issues in the series opener. Check out our full preview of Tigers vs Rays.

Must-watch

Start your week the right way by watching our daily sports betting show Let’s Bet It!

Lauren Jbara and Jared Smith are your hosts today, and they will be joined by Brian Scalabrine, former NBA champion and Pickswise NBA analyst, to discuss the NBA playoffs.

The team will also be looking at what we saw over the weekend in the NHL Playoffs and giving their best bets for today’s MLB slate, including their Plays of the Day.

Check out the show at 10:00am ET on our YouTube channel at youtube.com/c/Pickswise. You can also access the show through Spotify and Apple Podcasts (search for Let’s Bet It Presented By Pickswise).

Must-read

Don’t miss today’s MLB mega parlay (+1176 odds), and keep an eye out for more great sports analysis as it arrives throughout the day on the Analysis tab, including the best MLB prop plays and a same game parlay for the Astros vs Red Sox matchup.

Stat of the Day

The Nationals lead the MLB in scoring on the road with 5.88 runs per game.

Boost of the Day

Arsenal to win & both teams to score (vs Newcastle)
Odds boosted from +230 to +330 with FanDuel Sportsbook

Arsenal head north to take on Newcastle in EPL soccer action at 3:00 pm ET, and if you expect a high-scoring Gunners win then this odds boost from FanDuel could be for you. They have boosted the odds on an Arsenal win and both them and Newcastle finding the net from +230 to +330.
