Since graduating from Davidson (The College That Stephen Curry Built), I have been writing about sports -- just about any and all you can think of! -- and coaching tennis in Atlanta, GA. Beyond the four major sports, I am an avid tennis fan and cover the ATP Tour on a daily basis. If I'm not busy writing, you can generally find me on a tennis court or traveling the world wherever a sporting event takes me. For Ricky Dimon media enquiries, please email contact@pickswise.com.

We are wrapping up the week with another busy Sunday in the world of sports. There is NBA, NHL, MLS, EPL, and college basketball on the menu. As such, let’s not waste any time and get right to making your next bet better. Here is our latest installment of Wise n’ Shine!

About Last Night

North Carolina flips the script on Coach K
Well, that wasn’t how Duke drew it up! In head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s final game inside Cameron Indoor Stadium, North Carolina (+11.5, +470 ML) pulled off a 94-81 stunner. It was an overall successful day for the Pickswise college basketball experts, who went 16-12 ATS/ML and 18-10 O/U.

56 points for LeBron
Just when you thought it was time to count out the Lakers, LeBron James goes out and does something like that. The 37-year-old dropped 56 points on Golden State as Los Angeles (a +5.5 underdog) pulled off a 124-116 victory at Crypto.com Arena.

Goals, goals, and more goals in the NHL
Of 10 NHL games on Saturday, a whopping 9 went over the total. All but one contest (the first one of the day between the Blues and Islanders) produced at least 7 goals. The Pickswise team certainly wasn’t complaining about the entertainment, as we went 7-3 O/U.

Today’s Slate

ABC and ESPN double-headers
The NBA schedule is loaded, with an afternoon double-header on ABC followed by another double-header on ESPN at night. Among the teams involved are the Nets, Celtics, Suns, Bucks, and Clippers. Head over to our NBA picks page to see all of our previews and predictions.

Illinois entertains Iowa
Sundays always pale in comparison to Saturdays on the college hardwood, but the Big Ten has 4 teams in the top 25 taking the court. The nightcap (7:30 pm on FS1) pits Iowa against Illinois. Check out all of our CBB picks.

Eight-game schedule in the NHL
There are 8 games in the NHL on Sunday. One is especially intriguing, and for good reason it is on national television – TNT at 4:00 pm. Dallas (31-20-3) is paying a visit to Minnesota (32-18-3) in a battle for third place in the Central Division. You can find all of our hockey coverage on the NHL page.

Soccer action in the EPL and MLS
Not unlike Duke-UNC, the Manchester Derby is a can’t-miss event even when one team pales in comparison to the other – at least on paper. Manchester United is a whopping 19 points behind English Premier League-leading Manchester City. As a whole, we have 2 matches in the EPL and also 2 in Major League Soccer. Our soccer page has you covered with previews and picks.

Best Bet of the Day

Manchester City vs Manchester United Both Teams to Score
11:30 am ET, USA

Manchester United’s third tie in its last 5 English Premier League games against Watford coupled with Manchester City’s hard-fought win at Everton increased the gap between the rivals to 19 points. There have been few if any signs of United even being able to reduce that deficit prior to the end of the season. If nothing else, new coach Ralf Rangnick has made United tougher to beat – suffering just 1 loss inside 90 minutes in 17 games at the helm. The Red Devils have won 4 of their last 5 at Etihad Stadium, so at the very least they should be able to find the back of the net at some point. As for City, it began a run of 12 straight EPL wins by scoring twice in a win over United last November. Back both teams to score on Sunday. Read our full game preview for City vs United.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s NBA mega parlay has odds of +1255 and we have a couple of same game parlays that should not be missed. Also don’t forget about our preseason MLB coverage, which continues with our buildup to the 2022 MLB season with our team preview of the Oakland Athletics.

Stat of the Day

Of the Blues’ 32 wins this season, a whopping 26 of them come by multiple goals. They are 20-9-3 since December 1 and 17 of those 20 recent wins have come by multiple goals. Thus St. Louis -1.5 could be a strong play in Sunday’s game against New Jersey.

Boost of the Day

Giannis Antetokounmpo to score 40+ points
Boosted to +500 with DraftKings Sportsbook

The Bucks and Suns are squaring off in a rematch of the 2020-21 NBA Finals. DraftKings Sportsbook is celebrating the occasion by boosting the odds of the Greek Freak scoring at least 40 points from +400 to +500.
