Eagles vs Commanders Player Props: Best Bets and Predictions

Sunday Night Football in Week 8 will host an NFC clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders that definitely looked better on paper ahead of the season than it does right now. Both teams are broken, so much so that this game probably should have been flexed out of its primetime slot.

Regardless of how it looks, we have a primetime NFL game to handicap. Here are my favorite player prop bets to make for the Sunday Night Football showdown between the Eagles and Commanders, as I look to continue my 7-3 run over the last five weeks.

Week 8 SNF Player Prop: Antonio Williams (WSH) longest reception over 16.5 yards (-125)

Odds available at BetMGM at the time of publishing. Playable to 19.5 (-110).

With Terry McLaurin out for the year, someone will have to step up for the Commanders. Coming out of a bye in which fellow WR Treylon Burks was hobbled with a foot injury, it seems like the perfect time for the rookie from Clemson to make his presence felt.

Williams’ usage has been limited, but he’s made the most of his opportunities, corralling 18 of his 24 targets over the course of the entire year. However, in the four games Jayden Daniels has been under center, Williams is a perfect 13-of-13, and the only game in which he did not surpass this mark was the game Daniels was knocked out of with an injury. Further, Williams caught a 33-yard pass against the Eagles in Week 1 – his first game as a pro.

Washington coach Dan Quinn insinuated Williams will be the beneficiary of an increased workload in McLaurin’s absence, and the rookie should benefit from extra time to prepare for a Philadelphia defense sitting 25th in EPA per pass and 20th in pass success rate allowed (SumerSports). Not to mention, the Eagles have surrendered explosive pass after explosive pass over the last couple weeks.

Week 8 SNF Player Prop: Dallas Goedert (PHI) over 43.5 receiving yards (-115)

Odds available at bet365 at the time of publishing. Playable to 47.5 (-105).

The Eagles will be without DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, so Dallas Goedert will again be a primary target of current QB Tanner McKee. The tight end has been thrown to 15 times in McKee’s two starts, going for almost 110 yards in the two games combined. That success should continue this week against a Commanders defense that is outside the top 20 in PPA per pass and pass success allowed. Washington also has surrendered the seventh-most receiving yards to tight ends this season.

Goedert already crushed this number in Week 1 against Washington, going for 77 yards on four receptions. He may not go for quite that many yards this time around, but with the amount of passes expected to be thrown his way, I like his chances to clear 50.
