It was a light night on the ice to start the week alongside Monday Night Football, but we’re back in a big way tonight. Not only do we have a monster 11-game slate to enjoy with our NHL best bets today, but it also features an ESPN double-header with Bruins vs Hurricanes and Sabres vs Sharks. That’s a huge Eastern Conference showdown and coast-to-coast clash, so what’s not to love? Let’s see which of tonight’s matchup made the cut for our top spots!

Along with our NHL best bets today, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

NHL Best Bets Today: Bruins vs Hurricanes Under 6.5 (-125)

We’re going to dive straight into one of the aforementioned featured matchups, especially with it being perhaps the most likely Eastern Conference Finals matchup. The Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes each lead their respective divisions, so why not enjoy kicking off our NHL best bets today with the ESPN matchup?

Frankly, we’re surprised to see this total at 6.5, even if it is clearly priced to the under. It’s thanks to the fact that these teams both rank inside the top 10 when it comes to expected goal percentage, but we also can’t ignore the other end of the ice. Boston’s Jeremy Swayman is currently the favorite to win the Vezina Trophy! As for Carolina, it has built a reputation of an extremely stout defense for several seasons, leading to last year’s Stanley Cup victory. We love kicking off our NHL best bets today with a lower-scoring matchup in the game of the night.

NHL Best Bets Today: Devils vs Stars Over 5.5 (-115)

Ok, the no-fun police is done; it’s time to root FOR goals! That’s what we’ll be doing with Devils vs Stars, even if Connor Hellebuyck ends up being involved. Along with Jake Oettinger, that’s what has this total as low as it gets these days, but both teams have enough to get us to six or more goals and cash another one of our NHL best bets today.

When we last saw the Dallas Stars, they easily hit one of our higher-confidence picks on the 60-min money line over the New York Islanders. They did so with six goals against Ilya Sorokin, who is always in the Vezina Trophy conversation. Jason Robertson and company always seem to play well on home ice, which is also a bonus here. Oh yeah, Jack Hughes and the New Jersey Devils rank #1 in terms of expected goal percentage. Let’s root for goals for this addition to our NHL best bets today!

NHL Best Bets Today: Sabres vs Sharks Over 6.5 (-120)

We’re going to continue rooting for fun, and as an honorable mention, it was nearly Canucks vs Ducks that was going to take this spot. However, we’re pivoting to the other featured ESPN game rather than needing to rely on Vancouver for anything. The San Jose Sharks need more depth, but we still have them as part of our NHL best bets today.

Macklin Celebrini can net a couple of goals himself, which can be enough to get us over the hump here with the Buffalo Sabres also on the ice. Tage Thompson and company got back to their high-scoring ways in their recent loss, which made it five of their last six games finishing with seven or more goals. The odds also suggest that this should be a competitive game, so we could see 3-3 in the second period to make it sweat-free nice and early. As such, let’s round out our NHL best bets today with another higher-scoring game!
