MLB Picks Today: Expert Predictions & Best Bets for Saturday, June 6, inc. Angels vs Dodgers

The 2026 Major League Baseball season continues with another loaded slate of games on Saturday. The 15-game card includes a couple of anticipated showdowns, including a matchup between the New York Mets and San Diego Padres to close out the night at 10:10 pm ET. The action gets underway at 1:10 pm ET between the Mariners and Tigers.

Here are my MLB best bets for Saturday's slate, while you can also find out our expert MLB picks for EVERY GAME today and throughout the entire 2026 campaign!

MLB best bet: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over Los Angeles Angels (-150)

Odds available at BetRivers Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -160.

The Angels are tied for the worst record in baseball heading into Saturday's action, and it's hard to see that changing considering the uphill battle they'll be facing in this one. The elite Dodgers lineup only registered 1 run on Friday, but the Dodgers are still averaging well over 5 runs per game as a team -- which speaks to how difficult it is to hold down a lineup of this caliber for a full 9 innings. Dave Roberts' group will get a chance to tee off against Jack Kochanowicz (5.23 ERA, 4.86 xFIP), who has surrendered 23 runs over his last 5 outings. It wouldn't shock me if the struggling right-hander was out of the game by the middle innings, giving way to a shaky Angels bullpen.

On the other side, the Dodgers will counter with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, an ace that needs no introduction after his heroics in the postseason a year ago. The Japanese star has been outstanding of late, allowing just 2 earned runs over his last 19.1 innings pitched, while striking out 21 batters in the process. Once Yamamoto is out of the game, the Los Angeles bullpen has been clicking on all cylinders over the last month, which doesn't bode well for the visitors in their quest to keep this one close. Let's back the Dodgers to win by margin on Saturday.

MLB best bet: New York Mets ML over San Diego Padres (-120)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -130.

Despite the fact that the Mets are in last place in the NL East, New York is trending up at the moment. The Mets have won 6 of their last 8 games and are allowing under 3 runs per game over that stretch. It certainly helps matters that New York will get to take on a Padres team that has dropped 10 of their last 11 games, while only scoring more than 3 runs in 3 of those contests. San Diego is in free-fall and things won't get any easier for the Padres against Nolan McLean, who enters with a 3.36 xERA on the season, and has looked the part of a high-end starter in 10 of his 12 outings this year. Conversely, the same can't be said for Griffin Canning (7.16 ERA, bottom 5% hard-hit rate), who has allowed 21 runs over his last 22 innings of work. With that in mind, let's back New York as short road favorites in this one.
