Reds vs Cubs Pickswise Expert Predictions

Run Line Pick
CIN Reds +1.5(-125)

We have Thursday afternoon baseball at Wrigley as the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs finish a 4-game set. The Cubs are rolling, piling up 8 wins in a row now. The Reds, on the other hand, have become a sad story. They have lost 6 straight, and that includes the last 4 in a row by a single run. In all 4 games, they have given up runs in the other team’s final at bat. They have had multiple closers blow saves, and last night was the worst of all. After scoring 4 runs in the top of the 9th to take the lead, they promptly gave up 2 in the bottom half to tie it, and then lost in the 10th. If they are going to keep losing every game by 1 run, then why not play the Run Line at +1.5 for the Reds?

Rookie Rhett Lowder looks to break the streak for the Reds. Well, it’s not like the starting pitching has been the issue, so he will probably be fine. He will face Shota Imanaga, who has thrown great so far for Chicago. It is cool and the wind is blowing out, so who knows what could happen here on Tuesday, but one thing is for sure: if the Reds manage to grab a lead, everyone will be puckered up tight as they try to survive it. It is only May, so I suppose the Reds will probably win a baseball game again before the year is over, but it sure doesn’t feel like it. And I imagine the whole betting world will ride the streaks and play the Cubs on Tuesday, so we might as well fade the public. Let’s take the +1.5, and that way if the Reds can’t break the losing streak, maybe they can at least keep on losing by just one run in the last inning.

Reds vs Cubs Prediction: Reds +1.5 (-125) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
