Despite a total sitting at 9.5, I lean towards the over on that posted number in Wednesday’s matchup between the Los Angeles Angels and the Texas Rangers. Jack Kochanowiscz is set to start for the Angels, marking his 23rd start of the season in the Angels rotation. He has made 2 starts so far this month, allowing 18 hits and 4 walks within 9 innings of work. 2 of those hits were home runs, resulting in 11 total earned runs allowed with an additional unearned run surrendered. Kochanowiscz is simply not a starting option I have much faith in regardless of matchup.

Jacob Latz is set to start this game for the Rangers. Latz has made 26 appearances this season with only 3 of those outings being starts. The left-hander has solid numbers in 2025, but Texas appears to want to stretch him out a bit, at least as a multi-inning option. There is a chance that his leash gets overextended in this spot and the Angels may be able to take advantage. While not the most consistent unit due to their strikeouts, Anaheim is more than capable of doing damage with the long ball.
