Los Angeles Angels vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/09/26

The Los Angeles Angels and Toronto Blue Jays have the first game of the Saturday slate. The Blue Jays won the series opener on Friday, 2-0, behind the best pitching performance of the season from Dylan Cease. Today, they hand the ball to the workhorse of their postseason run last year, Trey Yesavage. Yesavage missed the first month of the season, but his two starts so far have been dominant, even if brief. I like the Blue Jays in this game, but there is little value there, so instead, let’s pivot to the game total under 8.5.

The Angels will hand the ball to Jack Kochanowicz. Kochanowicz is a 6’6” fireballer who has given the Angels nothing but quality all season. It would be a mistake to overlook him in this matchup, and I don’t expect the Blue Jays to generate a ton of offense in the early innings. I suspect this game will have a quiet first few innings, and a low score when we hand it off to the bullpens. I’ll take the under in this game, and back both starting pitchers.
