This is as clear of a buy-low opportunity as you’re going to find. The New York Mets are in a full-blown skid, dropping eight straight, and everything that could go wrong has. The offense has gone quiet, the bullpen has sprung leaks, and even solid starting efforts haven’t been supported. For a team that made major offseason moves, the current form looks nothing like what was expected. But that’s exactly why this number exists.

Additions like Freddy Peralta, Devin Williams, Bo Bichette, and Jorge Polanco have seemingly gone to the waste-side at the present moment, but make no mistake the Amazings are still loaded with talent at every level. The market, however, is treating New York like a team in collapse mode rather than one due for correction. That presents the opportunity. The Chicago Cubs are getting the benefit of the doubt here by virtue of home field, better recent form, and a stronger public perception. But if the Mets weren’t riding this losing streak, this line likely flips to where New York is actually the chalk. That’s the edge. I am not betting with the streak, I am betting the overreaction to it. Teams don’t stay this cold forever, especially ones with this level of roster quality. This is a great pivot point for New York after a day to reset and we are getting them at a plus price. That’s value, take the Mets.
