Texas Rangers vs Seattle Mariners Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/17/26

The Texas Rangers head to Seattle for the weekend to face the Mariners. These teams played a couple weeks ago in Arlington, a series that the Rangers swept in a set of close, low-scoring games. We even got this exact pitching matchup in that series, and the Rangers won that game 2-1. The Mariners seemed to have righted the ship after that series with a sweep of the Astros, but then they fell apart entirely in San Diego and were swept. The Mariners right now are struggling mightily on offense, and they are a very difficult team to trust. I am surprised they are favored, and I am happy to take the Rangers on the money line on Friday.

Jacob deGrom and Logan Gilbert are both aces. Neither is going to have more than 1 or 2 bad starts in an entire season, and both were excellent in this matchup a couple weeks ago. Gilbert allowed 1 more run than deGrom, which was the difference. Expect another excellent pitching matchup here. For me, this bet comes down to the offenses, and the Seattle offense right now is just not trustworthy. Julio Rodriguez is a notoriously slow starter, and Cal Raliegh has found way more swing-and-miss than power in his bat so far. I can’t trust them to score much. Give me the Rangers instead.
