Another banger weekend awaits us in the NBA beginning with a 7-game slate on Saturday. It’ll be an early Nuggets vs Pacers tip to start us off at 5 pm ET on NBA TV. Part 2 of the double-header sees the Knicks vs Cavaliers clash at 8 pm ET, you really don’t want to miss tonight’s games!

I’ve explored a solid number of betting opportunities from tonight’s slate and have come up with my 3 favorite NBA Picks for Saturday. Let’s take a deep dive into my NBA Best Bets!

NBA Best Bet: Michael Porter Jr. (BKN) Over 21.5 Points vs Atlanta Hawks (-122)

It won’t be too long until teams start enquiring about MPJ’s availability in trade talks. The Nets forward is off to a really solid start scoring the basketball and I firmly believe there is a contender out there that could benefit from his services. His three-point accuracy has improved by almost 3%, considering he is the 1st or 2nd scoring option on a nightly basis, I’d say that’s a success.

Atlanta is playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back here, they aren’t really known for their defense even on days when they’re fully rested. MPJ is averaging 19.8 ppg in the last 8 meetings between the two teams, he’s cleared this line 3 times in the last 4 such games. The Hawks allow the 7th most point to opposing SFs this season, for a bet that’s cashed in 62% of games I quite like MPJ’s chances here.

NBA Best Bet: New York Knicks -4.5 Point Spread over Cleveland Cavaliers (-115)

Fresh off their huge win over the Philadelphia 76ers last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers are right back into action hosting the defending champs on Saturday. New York actually swept the Cavs last season in the East Finals, they’ve had two extra days of rest before this game and despite this still being early in the season, I feel like that could be the deciding factor here.

On top of that we also have the Jarrett Allen injury, this could be a huge loss for Cleveland as the Knicks are solidly equipped with Andre Drummond in that area of play. We also just saw New York put up 135 points on the Bulls with Jalen Brunson dropping 33 pts, the 2nd most of his season so far. Cleveland is one of the older rosters in the NBA, I anticipate that to show on Saturday night.

NBA Best Bet: San Antonio Spurs -5.5 Point Spread over Portland Trail Blazers (-105)

The spotlight might be on Luka Doncic and his massive scoring start to the season, but I’d argue Victor Wembanyama has been just as impressive. The Alien just had another monster stat line with 30 pts and 14 rebounds in the win over Sacramento. What is also encouraging is the fact that he logged just 26 mins in the win, that could help him down the stretch of this game if the Spurs need him in a tight game.

Portland remains without Ja Morant, they really struggled to score timely baskets last night against the Lakers. It’s hard to imagine them keeping up with the younger back court of the Spurs here, especially if Dame Lillard decides to skip this game as it’s a 2nd night of a back-to-back. Portland might be 1st in opponent rebounds per game, but they’ve not yet faced a player this season like Wembanyama. I’m picking the Spurs to dominate here.
