Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 03/09/26

Time is slowly running out for the Nuggets who are desperately trying to solidify their starting unit in these remaining 20 or so games of the regular season. Aaron Gordon coming back means that they are back to full strength, that is if Jamal Murray is able to play here after his ankle twist in the loss to the Knicks. The Nuggets got blown out by 39 points, but we can give them some leeway considering it was a 2nd night of a back-to-back scenario. Monday’s meetings with the Thunder will be their 3rd this season, they are yet to win a team against SGA and co., with the latest meeting ending in a 6-point road defeat in OT.

The defending champs have similar issues, but unlike the Nuggets it hasn’t affected their ability to win games at all. They enter Monday’s affair on a 5-game win streak, the defense has really excelled in their last 4 games holding opponents to just 97,100, 108 and 87 points. However, I’d still advise caution here given that Isaiah Hartenstein and Jalen Williams have already been ruled out, while Alex Caruso and Chet Holmgren are both questionable. From a bettors’ perspective backing the Thunder hasn’t been all that joyful, they’ve failed to cover the spread in 5 straight games overall, while at home they’re just 15-18 ATS in 33 games so far.

There’s pressure on both teams given their situations in the standings, but I’d argue there’s slightly more on the Nuggets who just fell to 6th after the Lakers won on Sunday. Gordon coming back is a plus, the team will only get better once he returns to his pre-injury form. I just feel like these two teams are too evenly matched for one side to win 3 straight meetings between them. Give me a Nuggets upset here.
