Wednesday’s win over the Cavs was never in doubt for the Heat who led by as many as 23 points and 94% of the game according to ESPN’s stats and info. Balanced scoring was the key as 7 players total scored in double-figures, a total of 31 assists were also recorded with everyone spreading the wealth equally. The question is can they do it against the same opponent in back-to-back games? Prior to the win on Wednesday the Heat were on a 5-game losing streak, you do have to wonder is just one win enough to convince people they’ve fixed all of their bad habits.

From Cleveland’s perspective that was a game to forget, especially on the offensive end. Apart from the big run they made in the 3rd quarter, the other 36 mins of play saw them struggle finding the open man. I’m sure head coach Kenny Atkinson will make the necessary adjustments, Donovan Mitchell in particular was very disappointing in his approach in that game. The Cavs sharpshooter relied too much on his jump shot, failing to go to the free throw line for only the 3rd time in a game this season. For a player of his caliber that simply cannot happen in back-to-back games against the same team.

Friday’s rematch is all about the Cavs and them responding. Before that defeat on Wednesday, Harden had this team rolling offensively so I think things should return to normal here. Even though they lead the regular season series 2-1, Miami has a habit of coming up short in games against the Cavs – they’ve won just 2 of the last 9 meetings. I’ll back a Cleveland bounce back win here.
