Minnesota Timberwolves vs New Orleans Pelicans Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 12/02/25

With back-to-back wins over Boston and San Antonio, the Timberwolves have gotten rid of the bad taste in their mouths following 2 bad losses to Phoenix and Sacramento last week. Anthony Edwards appears to have made a priority of his to score 30+ points on a nightly basis; he hass done it in 5 consecutive games and team has responded well. Next up are the 3-18 SU Pelicans, who just lost their third game in a row. The 3-ball might very well be the difference in tonight’s game — Minnesota is on a roll over its last 3 games, knocking down 17, 21 and 17 triples. If the Wolves can remain hot, the Pels probably don’t stand a chance even if they play well.

New Orleans opted to rest basically half of its team in a loss to the Lakers over the weekend. The Pels allowed 130+ points for the 3rd time in 4 games, but if it’s any consolation to their fans they were able to cover as 14.5 point underdogs. Tuesday sees them as underdogs again, but this time around it’s only 9 points. Once again there is a long list of injured players who have been ruled out for this game. Most notably Jordan Poole and Herbert Jones are out, while Trey Murphy III is questionable. Zion Williamson should return, but I have my doubt he alone can keep this game from getting out of hand.

It’s always tricky backing a team to win by double-digits on the road, but their last 2 performances have warranted me doing exactly that with the Timberwolves. They are shooting the lights out from 3, playing a team that ranks in the bottom 10 in most defensive metrics. I’m going with Minnesota.
